I was running late for work this morning and as I was trying to walk fast through the slippery sidewalks worrying about impending deadlines, I reminded myself of this ☝🏼 and immediately started enjoying the crunch of snow under my winter boots and the sun’s rays warming my already red cheeks ☺️

And you know what? I made it to work just on time.

Taking old words and making them say something new. ✍️✨ Blackout poetry isn’t new, but it’s the perfect way to shift perspectives, find hidden meaning, and turn the ordinary into art. What words would you leave behind?

The poem:

Submissive. Enslaved. Fuel for freedom. Charred landscape, old documents. Tried to rebuild the same plea over espresso ☕️ Manuscripts couldn’t bear, revolutionized ideology of political activism. The collections of poetry translated in gold. Too devastated, the destruction stood with a flowing skeletal - living - up, hand ✋ over heart ❤️. He sighed, something caught his eye. A bundle of curled lettering, styles of the community perched, crouched to personal letters. Sweat beaded on for lost treasure of huge artistic value. We went downstairs for coffee ☕️, they joys against the ravages of time. There were still jewels who would cherish them.

Ever sit down to create something amazing only to be ambushed by one of these sneaky creativity killers? Yeah, same. Let’s expose them so they lose their power:

🔪 Perfectionism – That little voice saying “make it perfect or don’t make it at all.” Kindly tell it to sit down and let you make some beautiful messes.

😴 Overthinking – “What if this idea isn’t good enough?” What if it is? Plot twist: you won’t know unless you try.

📱 Doom-scrolling – One minute, you’re looking for inspiration; next thing you know, you’re deep into a cat’s morning routine video. PUT THE PHONE DOWN.
